Era and Cyrus are two ones I obviously need to get done, but I also have a bunch of new characters. Luca, Lyra, Raina, Kit, and Calico are all in there. I kinda did Briar but I haven't actually drawn him with... clothes. So I need to do that too.

Briar

kiora was raised the height of luxury and joined the royal guard the day she turned eighteen. everything has been handed to her on a silver platter, but she doesn't take a single one of those things for granted. raina on the other hand lived the first sixteen years of her life in abject poverty, and has had to work for any scrap of comfort she's had.

the moment raina meets kiora, hell the first time era ever mentions her, she thinks she's going to hate her. her guard is immediately raised; kiora is going to look down on her, treat her with disdain or like a stray dog. kiora expects the same of era's friends when they meet, that they will see her only as someone spoiled and ungrateful.

so they spend a LOT of their time together with their guards fully raised. neither of them actually get a proper understanding of who the other is because neither are going to risk being genuine and being attacked. and because of THAT, both play into what the other is afraid of.

raina completely closes off her emotions. she wants to appear like a hardened, strong, and respectable person. she shows no interest nor anger towards kiora. what kiora was afraid of, then, was that the others would see her simply as someone who doesn't understand them, and from her perspective this is what raina is expressing.

kiora tries her absolute damndest to work as hard as she can. she won't have anyone think for a second that she might be lazy, or full of it, and works her ass off more than any other member of the crew bothers to because she needs them to know that she's not some spoiled brat. and when raina is afraid kiora is going to think she's better than them, she sees kiora busting her ass and doing everything for them; it appears to her that kiora feels the rest of them are incompetent.
