I ordered all the Blue Beetle books my library owns. When my brothers saw them they started asking to read them, and these are wondrous books, full of humor and non-grittiness, which everyone should read, so I let them read them.
Brother #1, who is a grown man, exploded laughing at one point. I could hear him through the wall. And the fourteen-year-old keeps walking around saying:
Again. And again.
But it’s the ten-year-old who’s the most adorable. Ever since I gave him the books I don’t think he’s put them down once. He keeps flipping back through them. He won’t say whether he likes them, but he does keep sidling over to me and saying “Are these all the books the library has? Did you check inter-library loan?” Very suave.
Meanwhile my mother’s like, “So how’s that Blue Bumblebee book?”
It’s good. It’s very good.
