(bloodpointe) In some other verse, Sakra anxiously fiddled with the game files. She had never done such a thing before--it was terrifying to think she would screw something up. But she followed the modding tutorial, checking and rechecking to make sure she was doing it right. No script modifications, no character additions--just the additions of some new sprites she found online, ones that looked like they were right out of the game. It took her a very stressful hour, but soon, it was ready. 1/2
(bloodpointe) Sakra opened up the game, not hearing the theme music, but instead seeing the familiar apathetic sprite of Jared. After removing the tape from her webcam, she smiled and waved at her digital friend. “Hey, Jare! So apparently, it’s your birthday. Maybe you should check your sprite folder.” The newly-added sprites were of much happier, softer expressions for Jared, with smiles to laughter to grins to soft affection. Sakra grinned. “Happy Birthday, Jared. I love you, y'know that?” 2/2
he pops up immediately, expression apathetic as always. he blinks upon hearing her – right. it was his birthday. well, the date coded into the game, anyways. it’s not like he had a need for birthdays, he didn’t age. jared checks the files immediately, sprite disappearing - he wasn’t going to deny a gift, and he was half expecting some meme sprite anyways.
well, that wasn’t what he was expecting. he comes back with a new sprite, smile soft. eyes widen slightly at the i love you - god, when was the last time someone said that and he believed it? if there was a sprite where he was crying and smiling, it would’ve popped up, but unfortunately, there wasn’t such a thing.
❛ …thanks, sakra. i love you too. ❜
