Chances are most of my fellow Digizens watched the Superbowl. But if you haven’t been following that closely, Cam Newton has been the primary topic of conversation. He has received some criticism from the outside that says he doesn’t take his job as seriously as he should and people don’t appreciate his dancing and animated antics. Basically they believe he is having too much fun on the field. Many people have pointed to his race as being the primary reason he is being targeted so hard by the media.

The Facts:

-Newton won the MVP this year

-Newton lead his team to a 15-1 regular season 

-Newton’s Panthers have gotten better every year since he was drafted #1 overall

Now for my opinion. I absolutely believe he is being treated the way he is because of his race. Cam Newton is loved by his teammates because he has fun with the game and makes all of them infinitely better. Carolina fans love him. After every touchdown he does his dance then proceeds to find a young Carolina fan in the stands and gives them the ball. Every single touchdown. The community loves him. He is extremely involved in his community. He’s basically an all-around good guy who loves to enjoy himself playing the game he’s getting paid millions of dollars to play. So why is this not okay to some people? You hear the arguments that he needs to be more mature, work harder and spend less time dancing in the endzone. Let me reiterate, Cam Newton was the best player in the NFL this year while playing the toughest position in north american sports. To say that he doesn’t take the game seriously is absurd. You don’t roll out of bed and play the quarterback position at the level he does, he puts in a ton of work.

After the game he received a lot of flack for leaving his postgame press conference early. A few years back Peyton Manning left the field without shaking a single hand after losing in the Super Bowl to the Saints. No one batted an eye.

For some reason Cam Newton has been painted as a bad guy, which is tragic. Cam Newton goes out every sunday and enjoys doing his job with a child-like exuberance. He should be celebrated.

There has long been a perception that Black athletes don’t possess the mental abilities to play the quarterback position in the NFL. This perception is rearing its head out again and is showing us just how far we as a country still have to go. Through my eyes this is very obvious.

In recent news by CNN I read a interesting article about New York City digging tunnels 14 stories deep that will be used to join the transportation system! Beneath Manhattan's busy streets and outside of NYC, right now the largest transportation project in the country is under way. The project consist of workers working day and night hollowing out granite to create six miles of new tunnels 14 stories below the surface. When all the work is done it is said that 32,000 feet of new tunnels will be available for under ground transportation. This project is not new began in 2006, but because of the magnitude of the project the expected finish date has been pushed back multiple times causing work to progress and stop! Now they are saying that these new tunnels will be finished in 2019. In this article the never speak about the cost of a project this big, the cost of something like this must be enormous! Is it real worth 32,000 feet of new tunnels under ground? I think the real question to be ask is if they will be still relevant by the finish date. New innovations are invented every year and with every new invention things change. I just hope that the tunnels are put to good use and the hard earned money of the tax payers dollars do not go to waste. On a brighter note these tunnels must be a marval to see and experience. 

In recent news from CNN a drug cannon was found on Mexican soil by Mexican police. Mexican smugglers have used tunnels, cars, boats and even human body in attempts to sneak drugs past U.S. agents in an endless cat and mouse game on the United States boarder. Now drug smugglers have invented a new way to get their drugs across the boarder in the form of cannons. This "drug cannon" uses high power air compression to shoots bags of drugs over the boarder to retrievers on the American side for late night retrievals. These cannons have the ability to shoot canisters filled with drugs up too 500 feet away. Accurate or not the drugs make it over and it is up too the retrievers to find them. With this new invention what will the come up with next? In my opinion I find its really sad that people will go to such lengths to create such things. The war on drugs for the American/Mexican boarder has not gotten any better and with new inventions like these it doesn't seem like it will be slowing down anytime in the near future. With this new cannon discovery this brings up the question: What will they think of next??

So in this time in life we are facing many crises’ like pollution and depleting of our oil supply. But in a way we are all taking a step to a greener and less fossil fuel dependency by recycling, buying more fuel efficient cars and trying to make inefficient things more efficient and so on. Incipit of going green or being more efficient there are some companies that are somewhat ignoring that. In an article I read entitled Power, Pollution and the Internet it tells us that larger companies that require using buildings full of servers to operate their company are using a lot of electricity as much to power up a medium size city. These computer servers need electric to operate and having a building full of them overheating can occur so what do you do about that? Have a cooling system. When a computer overheats it will crash and you can loses a lot of data including important ones so a cooling system helps but that also takes up a lot of energy to support the load. Google and Facebook’s data center consumes nearly 400 million watts. Now I know we are at fault because as the users for these sites these companies are only trying to compensate for the amount of people using them. With all the in the world technology and intelligence I’m sure they can come up with a better way of producing these kind of consumption because with the way the amount of data and energy being used we all can suffer from it.

This whole iPhone craze has been around since I guess the first time apple had announced its release of the first generation of the iPhone. By the looks of how technology is progressing the popularity of apple products have much booming. I myself am in this bandwagon for iPhones, I think I've had my hands on every iPhone apple has brought out but I don't necessarily have them all I either lost it or broke it. Now I'm sitting here with the 4s waiting for my contract to end to upgrade to the 5.

Around the world thousand of eager fans, enthusiasts, collects and everyday users are waiting in line just to get there hands on this technological advanced devise. I think many people take it way to far just to be the first. A person in Sydney waited in line three days before the release date to get the first spot in line. Now I haven't done something outrageous like that maybe just stand several hours for Black Friday. Now iPhones sales has been down since the release of the 4s but that's mainly because of the iPhone 5. People waited out sticking with the 4, instead of upgrading to the 4s. And there's noting wrong with that apple should've jus waited themselves too. Instead of coming out with something similar to the 4 but just with the addition of Siri it's petty much the same phone. Anyways apple is projected to ship out over 10million iPhones by the this month and it is also expect help boost the US economy  in the forth quarter. And you can count me in that Ill be getting an new iPhone but I won't be stand in the line. I'll just be waiting for my contract to end.

I recently stumbled upon this article on yahoo news and astronomers had discovered a new galaxy. Throughout our years here on earth we, more like the astronomers all over the world, have been studying and searching the timeline of the universe. Trying to understand when things happen and having a better understand of life from the beginning. With the recent confirmed discovery of the earliest known galaxy it is a step forward to our understanding of our universe and how technology has advanced. I feel like with the technology we have now and our further ongoing research we will one day be able to travel to other galaxies. In the article they talked about how they discovered the galaxy and its something I have never heard of. I just thought that they have a computer scan the universe throught a high-powered telescope but its far more advance than that. With that high-powered telescope researchers use this so-called gravitational lens which magnifies the telescope even more. This is because the mass of the galaxy is much larger, the larger the mass the stronger its gravitational pull and with that it bends light around it affecting how telescopes on Earth. So maybe there are extraterrestrial life out there, there just waiting for us to find them.
