You can openly condemn problematic elements and any other stuff that you don’t like, but censoring everything that involves those problematic elements is NOT the way to go. I don’t think Maya Angelou should be censored in schools just because she wrote about her experiences being molested by her stepfather. Sure, it was uncomfortable as fuck to read about it, but it fucking happened. Censoring it doesn’t make it any less real. People will continue to have thoughts like that, and cancel culture will not make it go away. I’m not even going ask who gets to decide the rules — who gets to decide what’s problematic shipping aka pro-shipping and what’s not? Apparently sae and shidou have ~power dynamics~ and people are inherently evil for shipping them.

Fujoshis are a thing because Japanese women were so repressed emotionally & sexually, they started fantasizing about men as a way of expressing themselves. This is why you see a lot of explicit content coming from Japanese creators — that’s literally their outlet in a society where PDA is minimal and premarital sex is frowned upon*. Your western political wokeness has nothing to do with them and I suggest reading into orientalism because the west has a fucking history of inserting themselves into other cultures. The other day I saw an English comment ask a Japanese creator what the fuck was wrong with them. Um.

Twitter has this algorithm that tries to put only the things you’ll like on your timeline. It works well if you’re just looking for content, but that also means that your twitter circle is pretty much you and the people coming from the same background as you. Everyone shares the same political views & opinions, and I think that sucks as globalization continues.
