Today I struggled to learn about Blizzard Bindings. It reminds me of Origami, lots of folding, mountains, and valleys.
I used cheap masking paper to make two prototypes to refer to. Being someone who can't do puzzles, my brain had quite the workout.

Do as I say, not as I do
This is a mini oversized crown/blizzard binding, just a little test graphic novel sketchbook to see if it could be done, how it would work out. I reinforced the spine with an Oxford hollow to give the spine more flex and support than just glue and my cover material. I'm honestly not sure if that alone is what is making the spine so stiff, but I can barely access the tabs that would allow me to change out my pages if I wanted.
Personally, I'm not actually sold on the idea of crown binding. I'm just not seeing the value for the reasons I make books.
