My Bliss Design in my au

Along with Animal Crossing, I also grew up being a fan of The Powerpuff Girls (the 1998 show), even I can say that I have been loving these three little superheroines for as long as I can remember.

Besides the original show, I watched the so-called "infamous" 2016 reboot as well (even I watched it's premiere episode and still remember it), meh show if you ask me—I didn't hate it, but also I think that I didn't love it either. However, if there's only one thing from this reboot that ended up earning a place in my heart, it was undoubtedly:

Blisstina Francesca Francia Mariam Alicia Utonium (aka Bliss)

Okay, where do I start? The first time I saw her was in her debut, I just liked the story and left it at that, but now that I think about it, I remember thinking about her quite a bit (I even think that in the midst of those thoughts I ended up creating a super early version in my mind of two OCs of mine who are mirror twins). Her long and shiny cyan hair, her big, violet eyes, her overall appearance... I don't know, but I've always found Bliss beautiful just the way she is—even nowadays.

However, it wasn't until late 2023 that I started drawing her (even I got it right on the first try), and although I haven't done it as much as I'd hoped, I'm still happy with the drawings I've made—like the first two above (especially the second one, which was made on ibisPaint X). Even I can say that I've been mastering the art of drawing Bliss at this point, and nope, I won't change this powerpuff girl for anything in the world.

So... how did I end up pairing her (platonically) with Penn Zero? That's a... funny story, I guess.

You see, I think both characters are or were underrated/undervalued in different ways (with Penn and his show being something little known even nowadays, while Bliss is practically seen as the "black sheep" of a franchise as big as PPG); also, both had ✨bad luck✨ in the exact same year: 2017—double burning at the stakes of oblivion... yay.

But putting aside the sad parts and the crude humor, I also paired them up because they're my favorite characters (and platonic crushes until some extent) as well as incredible heroes; plus, they're both so cute! You can't say that they DON'T look adorable... or can you? Anyways.

So, thanks to a doodle I made of these two playing ring-around-the-rosy, my thirst for decent representation of my baby [Penn], and my artsy fairy power to create whatever I want, I ended up writing (and publishing on AO3) a crossover fanfic between Penn Zero and Bliss called "Invisible Barrier". Being also the first time I'd ever written a crossover... and a somewhat sad one (but it has a happy ending, I swear!).

But well, and so my little fairies, it's how was born:

💛Bliss-Penn💛 (I love this ship name, not gonna lie).

So yeah, that's the story of my love for Bliss and the origins of my platonic crackship between her and Penn. What else can I say already? I love this girl a lot and I'm proud of that!

I was helping my grandma with some errands and saw these ladies at Target.

Never expected anyone to make actual dolls involving the Teenage Powerpuff Girls from the City Of Clipsville episode. Interesting to see the IP still having a bit of an identity crisis with the merchandisers...

🔥 HOT TAKE: I actually do like the way the Girls were designed in that teenager memory scene from that episode along with the Rowdyruff Boys.

It looked like they actually went through puberty and gained a sense of style and identity, unlike Bliss from the 2016 reboot with those awkward hips.

En esta ocasión les traigo un dibujo que representa una situación de la parte final de la trilogía que estoy escribiendo en Wattpad.

En esta se mostrará la influencia de este personaje que en el reboot tuvo su buena intención, pero no llegó a gustar del todo por la inclusión forzada y el tono de la serie.

Mi idea es retomar la idea, y hacerla un poquito más seria, y no se si oscura xD eso ya lo veré.
