Two bird bois discover strawberries, are lost in the sauce, more at 6.

There are no strawberries in skyloft, so the first time either boi tries them it's gotta be a moment of pure bliss, right? This is totally in no way related to my own excitement at my strawberry patch blooming and getting ready for fruit.

Sky was no fool.

He knew that Four was more unsettled than he had pretended to be after Wind’s story. And Sky knew that he was not exactly one to judge - after all, he knew as well as anyone that strange, fairy-tale sounding myths could easily turn out to be true, and in fact be very real portents of doom.

Still, even after the Chain had laughed the story off and returned to their normal chatter, the smith was far quieter than usual. His responses, when he gave them were short and to the point. His voice was strained.

Sky was not superhuman. While his brothers often quipped that his connection with the Master Sword helped him to sense his brothers’ emotions, this was not the case. The reason that Sky was so good at talking to his brothers, at understanding how they were feeling and helping them through their troubles was, he thought, because he listened. And no, not with the power of extra sensitive ears or through having better hearing than any of the others had, thank you very much.

He just… he liked talking to people. Listening to them. It was something that he was good at, something that he was used to, and he picked up on subtle nuances in what they said - or did not say - that showed how they were really feeling.

Although, he had to admit: Four being quiet and not even talking to himself wasn’t exactly a subtle indicator that something was wrong. His brothers just either were completely obtuse or, more likely, were trying to give him some privacy. Or perhaps hoping that someone else would know what to do about it.

Damn Heroes. Great at fighting: less good at feelings.

Wild gave the rest of the Chain a run down of his memory when they all woke up the next morning. He told them about the sister he barely remembered, although he left out that her name had been Aryll. Wind, he figured, didn’t need to know that. Didn’t need to remember that fact when he thought of his own little sister, living happily back in the safety of Outset.

But he told them the rest as they sat over his massive breakfast of huevos rancheros in the ruins of Lon Lon Ranch, snow softening out the rough, jagged ruins and turning them from something stark into something almost romantic. Something peaceful.

Wild was grateful for the Chain. He knew that they always supported one another, but being able to share what he had remembered and to know before they even said it that he could count on their unerring support was a vast comfort. So when he then told them that he wanted to go to Lookout Landing next so that he could speak to Purah about what might have happened to his sister, he knew before anyone spoke what their response would be.

‘Yes’. Of course it was ‘yes’. ‘Yes’ with love and enthusiasm and kindness. There was no further discussion, no need to debate. The decision was made and that was where they would go.
