one thing i really dont like about acotar (other than the author) is that (almost) all the male villians (seriously like 99%) have some pathetic sad backstory that makes you feel bad for them, but (almost) all the female villians (with the exception of them being like a demon/creature of another realm) are just evil power hungry abusers that take advantage of the men around them. idk if sjm has truly just had the worst experiences with women in her life or if its just misogyny but the fact that every evil dude has some "redeeming" quality is making me sick

started reading Divine Rivals today on a whim (Libby App) and oh my GODS i didnt expect to get so sucked into it. Putting it down for the evening at chaoter 40 bc I cannot emotionally handle whatever is coming in the next chapters. In my mind, for the night at least, the war bipasses them completely and they live happily ever after
