Maritza used to be very happy, a sporty, but very intelligent young girl, but after Lucy's death, she focused more on sports, and after Mya's disappearance, which she seemed to be the first to know she was dead, she became bitter and angry. She rarely does much but playing outside, swinging bats, throwing things, her grades have plummeted to failing grades, and no one can seem to console her. All she wants is revenge, thinking Mr Peterson is the one who killed Mya.
