The young sailor’s wife takes in her new surroundings, grateful to be out of the dreadful weather but confused as to why someone would be so open to allow her to sit in their drawing room-
[she’s open to nearly nothing-her entire world has been built on extreme distrust of others. She studies every single move anyone makes-even her husband.
Love, she will. Trust, she will never.]
~”Thank you,” she begins, refusing to take her gaze off of the woman who sits across from her. ~”..I apologize for any disruption I may have caused-I...I didn’t mean to startle you or your family, ma’am-I just...I’m not from here. I’ve lived in London all my life.”~
She bites her tongue. She has said too much already, so she forces a smile and decides perhaps it is best to introduce herself to this stranger.
~”My name is Johanna Hope.”~
