i’ve been really stressed about an essay that i have just not been able to write well and we were doing some peer editing in class today and one of my closest friends and i edited each others and she left all of these encouraging notes like “you can do this!!” and “you’re doing great” all over it

there was also this guy whole would say “don’t underestimate a non-binary” any time somebody would say something sarcastic or jokingly threatening to me
these are two kids who began the school year as homophobic and transphobic very uneducated people
for some people, just hearing people talk about queer people and meeting queer people and realizing that we are exactly like them is all it takes to open their minds a bit
this guy who was a homophobic prick at the beginning of the year now regularly sends me lgbtqia+ tiktoks
people change, it's nice when it happens for the better
