...So we know Nnoitra has self-destructive tendencies (baby mantis needs some love ;-;) so I just find it So Interesting that Nnoitra chose to have iron skin over any other upgrade. Iâd love to send you a super long rant about my thoughts but Iâm tired so if you have any thoughts lemme know, because psychoanalyzing Nnoitra is one of those things that I love to do but also it takes time and effort :v
   [ WOAH letâs unpack this! Nnoitraâs tendencies are not exactly self-destructive. Destruction is not his motif. Destruction is Grimmjowâs theme, and I prefer to keep the lines between each of the characters as clear as possible. Like when Ulquiorra refers to â true despair â? Stick to your own cause of death, my dude. Donât invade Nnoitraâs. Self destruction refers more to sabotaging oneâs own progress ect, but Nnoitra is CONFIDENT about what he wants. He wants to die. He doesnât try to ruin himself on the road towards his goal. In fact, he constantly strives to grow stronger, so that he can fight the strongest opponents, and eventually be slayed in battle. Nnoitraâs cause of death is DESPAIR. The definition of despair: â to lose all hope / to be overcome by a complete sense of futility and defeat â. Nnoitra doesnât think there is any way he can exist in the world ( in canon, he says; â this godforsaken world â ). He CANâT TAKE HIS OWN EXISTENCE. He will only have liberty in death. The only times he feels like he is handling his life is when heâs fighting in a life-or-death battle. Because then he feels close to his freedom. This is why he wants to surround himself with battle. He wishes to live and breathe it. Being in a state where he doesnât feel crushed by the world. And then - heâll die. Just like he always wanted to.
   Then, about Nnoitraâs hierro! This was NOT something he chose himself. None of the Arrancar get any â say â in their creation. They are transformed by the Hogyoku, and the results vary. Nnoitraâs hierro is a way his own existence can spite him. Heâs always wanted to die, and now itâs only HARDER for him to achieve it, because his own body refuses to let him go. Itâs like a prison. Nnoitraâs iron skin also prevents him from ever receiving any PROOFS of his battles. He hardly ever gets even scratched, even though he has fought countless battles. His body remains untouched. No scars to prove he is truly a warrior. Another thing - Nnoitraâs hierro only protects him physically, when what he really needs is a mental armor. Itâs so easy to get under his skin with words. He says it himself. â ITâS LIKE STEPPING ON AN OPEN WOUND â. He would rather have his body cut open than take words of pity. ]

Uuuuuhhh.. heck if I know? I pull from a fair number of other fic authors so Iâm not certain if I stand out *that* much, but if I do... maybe the characters I tend to focus on? The relationships I tend to put them in?Â
