Some pre knife show blades back from HT that I had to get sorted ready for the show last week . Steels are a mix of 01 tool steel , L3 and high carbon saw blade steel with a bit of file steel thrown in .

I recently scaled up 3 different blade blanks for Gary Wines of Wines knives.
Gary is a former British SAS Armorer and wanted to know how well the steel type and knife designs held up under use on a recent trip over seas with the idea of me then making up some new prototype designs for him .

Two test knives cut from that huge tractor mounted hedge trimming saw blade ready for grinding and heat treatment .
 I'm hoping they turn out to be a high carbon spring steel .
