i think the one cool thing to come out of the backrooms movie has been the blackrooms and other cultural backrooms like it's so interesting to me. like yes, grandma's house specifically at night is a liminal space it's always fucking hot as shit and the clocks r always louder than necessary!!!! yes the cramped ass cornerstore/bodegas and the seemingly never ending beauty supply stores are liminal spaces!!!
