Malcolm Blackberry was born here at BES in April 2008 to beautiful Willow who wouldn’t nurse her litter of 6 squeaky babies. She apparently thought they were aliens and shrunk up in fear. So Mama hoomin and Papa hoomin held her still and shepherded the babies to their breakfast. When they finished, the litter paired off and burrowed baby-sized tunnels and went to sleep until the next feeding. Malcolm and his brother, Buckthorn the brown agouti, never got adopted while their fancy colored siblings did. Only one sister, Juliette (Izzie), returned a few years ago after four years (!), still survives in permanent foster. Golden times when MH and PH were raising baby bunnehs. Foster a litter for your local rabbit rescue! It’s so badly needed! Just recently, 18 rabbits ended up in a shelter and just today, MH was working to get help for a mom and three litters who are vulnerable right now. So more foster homes will be needed very soon! #rabbitrescue #fosteringsaveslives #fosterbabies #rabbitsofinstagram #bunniesofinstagram #bunnysanctuary #canucmywill2be #brighteyessanctuary #blackrabbit #blackrabbitcollective #blackbunny #blackbunnyrabbits
