"Den sorte plads" (the black place) is part of a public park complex named "Superkilen" in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark. It was opened in 2012 and consists of the 3 park areas: "den sorte plads" (the black place), "den røde plads" (the red place) and "grønt område" (a green area). The public park complex's is an municipal initiative to raise the standards of the living areas in the area Outer Nørrebro, and the objective is to promote an international high-quality city development to inspire other cities and districts to do the same. The park is filled with items from all over the world symbolizing the ethnical diversity of the area with more than 50 different nationalities. "Den sorte plads" works as a meeting point for its inhabitants and has palm trees from China and barbecue facilities among others.
