it's still 26 in the house (downstairs!! upstairs is worse!!) and i'm thinking about c!rivals duo trying to cool down and c!techno explaining how there's nothing better than a good mud bath and c!dream saying he's crazy, that's so weird, techno. and techno definitely gives him some line about it being pig culture and dream stutters long enough for techno to just toss him in the dang mud which absolutely devolves into a mud fight that they take very seriously.

Loyal, I've wondered for a while, but do you have any of your own concepts of backstories for c!Dream and c!Techno? Like do you consider things like the manhunt or potato War to be "canon" to your interpretation of the characters, or even if you have ideas for what their childhoods might have been like
i do!
though the truth is, it kinda depends on which au and which c!dream we're talking about. my rabbit c!dream has the most fleshed out background. i made a post about it here. for the most part, i'd say that each c!dream has a very similar backstory with having to leave his original server because of instability and loss, only to meet his friends and finally be able to create his own server.
(i have an idea about manhunt and dreamXD and gambling, actually, that might have led to the creation of the dsmp but the idea isn't fully fleshed out yet.)
anyway. sometimes the duel is canon for me, sometimes it's not. i do make the potato war canon, though!
for c!techno, i've always thought that his parents were some sort of mercenaries that tended to focus on helping people. they left him when he was pretty young, telling him that they were needed to help some orphans, and unfortunately were killed in the process. hence his hatred of orphans. i have a LOT more but again, some of it depends on the au. though techno always had a stint as a mercenary himself and worked for some corrupt governments which is what turned him into an anarchist.
c!dream and the rules he created for the smp to try to keep the peace and then c!techno breaks the rules on holy ground and dream is just like 'okay but i think it's okay if techno does it'. that's his special guy.

Whenever C!Phil needs to distract the cat girls rivals he pulls out a laser pointer and has them get their zoomies out until they finally get tired out enough to listen.
honestly the idea of people just trying to distract them or wear them out is really funny to me. they both get the weird zoomies in canon so it just makes sense that if there's an easy way for people to exploit that in light-hearted way, they absolutely would!

honestly, i haven't really thought it through at all!
i just think cat girls are kinda fun.
it'd be kinda fun, though, if it was some sort of royalty au, maybe. and then when it's just the two of them, they get to be total dorks together. i love the idea of them getting to be who they really are when they're alone! it's just fun.
tell me more about the western au π particularly if there's a train robbery π how would they handle a train robbery π also is it just them or do they have a band of misfits/outlaws running around with them (Phil, Ranboo, Niki, Punz, Sapnap, etc)? π and also I wanna know more abt Techno's backstory π

actually, there's a couple times trains are involved or at least that's working idea at this time. i'm still working on fleshing the whole thing out because i have a couple ideas that are slightly conflicting!
but basically, dream had a band himself (dteam) until things fell apart. a lot of it had to do with the new settler town that's popping up near dream's land. because dream wasn't always an outlaw. there's a bit of deed stealing and whatnot. and now there's a new town and a gambling hall and dream is fully an outlaw who has been making things hell for the new town. as one does.
c!techno is ojibwe and traveled west after a few run-ins with the white authorities. he left because he knew staying would mean that they could retaliate against the rest of his tribe without much scrutiny. better not give them any excuse or leverage. it's genuinely not easy for him and some anger makes him become a bit of an outlaw at first but then he ends up retiring out near where dream is from. they clash a little at first, mostly in a friendly way, because techno gets dream and his complaints. dream also helps techno when techno gets scape-goated by the town for something he shouldn't be (think protecting his land type thing). dream DOES end up challenging techno to a duel (which kinda takes techno by surprise) and techno wins but deliberately shoots dream in a way that doesn't kill him. after that, techno would genuinely consider dream a friend.
anyway, there's a lot more that i've been thinking of adding and i've even been thinking of making c!dream mixed but more white-passing because there's definitely something kinda.... i don't know.... about having that disconnect and the way other people treat you.
