who: @blackoutvane where: wren's house, the afternoon after the wedding reception
“Hello?” Nathan stumbled in through the front door, carrying a takeout bag of fries in one hand and his bucket of cleaning supplies in the other. “Sorry, I took forever,” Nathan called, loud enough for her to hear from wherever she was in the house. The bathroom, according to her last messages. He passed by the kitchen, dropping the bag of fries there as he ventured further into the house. “I forgot my car was at Joel’s. I had to Uber there first. Do you know why there’s profiteroles all over the front seats?” He couldn’t recall how they had ended up there but was sure he would’ve done a better job of packing leftovers, if that’s what had happened.
“Anyway, I stopped by mine for cleaning supplies just in case. I don’t know what all you have here.” He set the bucket down next to the bathroom door, which stood ominously ajar. Nathan knocked. “Wren? Can I come in? Are you decent?”
