And then I capped off my Sunday seeing #killerofsheep by #charlesburnett with the gorgeous and talented @carpediafelix - this film is a national treasure. It shows the small tragedies as big tragedies- a motor falling off the back of a truck, a kid getting hurt playing, kids throwing dirt on clean clothes. The gender stuff “Your daddy!” and the beauty of this filmmaker showing #femaledesire combined with the actual footage of sheep being killed was devastating. On a mission to learn more and so glad for Dia’s suggestion to see it and for the series #blackintimacy @themuseumofmodernart . I happened to have “black female spectator” by #bellhooks in my bag and read it with new eyes after seeing this film. I am exhausted but I did a great job of keeping my mind off of test results and numbers that come in tomorrow.
