The CM's that took the photos shouldn't be allowed to get away with that. In the entertainment dept. we're supposed to politely ask people to not photograph other people without their permission BUT we cannot ask them to delete without involving security. Photograph the offending guest and then You can go to guest relations and usually they can document the issue and if the guest continues to be a problem they have it on file. Your experience shouldn't be diminished by rude guests.
Entertainment CMs do what you said and ask people to stop. But Iām talking about when weāre just walking around, most CMs simply canāt do much about it. Iām not blaming them, but thatās how it is. I donāt think itās bad that they canāt do anything. I understand that. I donāt expect them to be able to. When I worked there my response wouldāve been similar, thereās nothing to really be done.Ā
The only time I involve CMs with rude guests is when someone is being abusive or violent. So aggressive pets, Iāll get park ops involved. If someone is being verbally abusive (like this guy that followed me around calling me a fat bitch for not letting his kid pet my dog) I get security.Ā
Otherwise I educate where I can and ignore people if I need to. My picture taking experiment did seem to get the point across to a few guests at least.Ā
The CMs that take photos I generally just explain it to them and ask them to delete it and they do. The one security guy that refused to, I got supervisors involved. But I generally try not to get supervisors involved if I can explain it nicely. I donāt want to ruin someoneās job over it if we can just resolve it like adults politely.Ā
