Unexplained causes of death and rumors ripped through the town of Mystic Falls. Guiseppe, Damon’s father, was the leading member of the council. He aimed to protect his children and others from this impending doom. As he began to uncover the secrets that the town had to offer, he became more strict and convinced others of the same solution. When it became implemented, the rates of homicide decreased and the council felt the problem was solved.
However, Guiseppe didn’t agree. He actively used his voice in the committee to voice for the hunting of the remaining supernatural beings in town, proclaiming that every damned creature would absolve. To avoid a conflict, they agreed to his idea but would not openly seek to make his mission clear to the townsfolk. The hunting business became hushed hushed and everyone seemed to forget about these things for awhile. Damon, Guiseppe’s son, never was exposed to the supernatural like his father was. However, he knew his dad talked about hunting and it never really crossed his mind. He always thought his father was just getting old and degenerate.
Unlike his dad, Damon sought for an education. Being home was something he never was fond of and he couldn’t understand the feud his father had with vampires and other folklore creatures. So, when he came back from the war to see how he was doing, he was surprised to see that he had knives and other sorts of weapons. Entering the home, he took notice of the open cabinets. It was quiet. Going back outside, he looked around for his dad. Seeing that the basement door was open, he crept over and followed the source of noise.
“Dad?” He questioned into the open air. He grabbed a lantern, lighting it. He moved closer, seeing bars. “What..” He questioned, confused.
