In my 34 years in industry, I heard plenty of overused and ugly bizz-speak terms, most of which I've tried to forget, but some still come to mind: "pre-planning" (planning to make plans??), "win-win," "partnering," "skill set" (what's wrong with simply "skills"?), and, of more recent vintage and perhaps the most grating of all, "efforting," meaning trying, as in, "We are efforting to secure him as a speaker." Here’s a sentence putting together some of the more objectionable terms: The committee should develop actionable and impactful deliverables to incentivize the workforce. Ugh and ugh.
