#VisaHQ is happy to take part in @LinkedIn ’s Bring In Your Parents day event! #BIYP day is the day when we invite parents to visit our offices (or give them a call) to become closer and share our success.
When we were kids...or at least when I was a kid, there is this show and tell session where you bring your parents to school to show your friends what they do for a living. As an adult, while my husband and son understood and supports me in whatever I do, I don't always feel the same about both my family and in laws. At least, not enough that they wouldn't ask me 'Huhhh? Weekend also need to work?' Or 'Sunday also need to work?' Or 'Don't give me excuses that you can't come to dinner. It's off working hour'. Or 'Why are you late? It's weekend. Don't tell me you need to work?' Not many understand how it is like to be in my shoes and very few know that my schedule is usually filled up one month in advance and most would accuse me for making excuses for not meeting or spending time with them. I think this Bring in Your Parents to Work Day is a great initiative by #linkedin to bridge the gap and allow parents and family members to understand their adult children and relatives better, and instead of resenting them whenever they say they are busy, and they would be able to understand and support their grown up children in many ways. http://cleffairy.com/linkedin-bring/ #biyp #elliecleffairy #ellietravels
