At the time, the club's owners #SteveRubell & #IanSchraeger were being investigated for tax evasion among other things and decided that for the venue's last party they would go out with a bang featuring the presence of Miss Ross. As pictured, Diana is full of joy and happiness, crouched on the dj booth counter with #Disco dj pioneer #NickySiano on turntables. Directly behind her (and with his back to her) is no other than #NileRodgers (one-half of the magical duo that produced the entire "Diana" album including bassist/co-producer #BernardEdwards #RIP). It was a bittersweet time with the club's woes but an ecstatic event for Diana Ross. After that last night of fun with Diana in February of 1980, Studio 54 finally closed it's doors. The club reopened from 1981 up until 1986 when it was bought, reowned and further deemed as a concerts-only venue. Diana Ross aka #TheBoss will forever be remembered as one of 54's last moments in time. EMB
