Jess continued to chant quietly as her upper body began to go numb and Makapo continued on with his rant about Tamatoa for what seemed like a long time. How stupid and narcissistic he was. How he let humans put him on his back. How he befriended a stupid demi-god and got his leg cut off, and overall being the egotistical smug jerk that the crab was. Makapo's voice seemed to get louder and louder, extending his rants towards the entrance of the cave so anyone could hear him. Seemed like the arachnid had a huge grudge against Maui and Tamatoa.

"... It serves him right to be stranded and lose everything. There's poetic justice for you! And you claim that he'll be your killer? You wish, foolish human girl!" Makapo snarled with that point.

The human winced in pain, hating that her whole body was starting to fall asleep and the bite still hurt like hell. But she imagined that they were still on the chessboard, the Black King and Silver Knight inching closer and closer to the Red King.

"Now die." Makapo leaned down to grab Jess with his mouth when Jess smirked and stayed still before uttering a single word.

"... Check...."

Makapo stopped. "... What?"

"Check." Jess kept smirking.

Once she stopped talking to Aroha, Jessica turned her head to Brian, not knowing what to say first or whether to speak up or not. It was amazing to see that despite how different they were, they were the same person underneath, a human soul with insecurities, flaws, fears, and regrets. Boy, Girl. Demon, Human. Eros, Psyche. Silver Knight, White Pawn.

It broke her heart to see Brian, the confident, dominant demon who had the answers and reassurance crumble before her. She was afraid that he blamed her. She was afraid that he’d hate her for what she did. She wish she could sit up and scoot her body next to him, but she couldn’t.

Silence seemed to prevail as Tamatoa set off back up to the main/colorful part of Lalotai. The misty and foggy atmosphere didn’t help to calm down her nerves.

After much debating and thinking, it was Jess who spoke up first. “... W-Why didn’t you tell me you were controlled by an anon that day? I-I didn’t know... I didn’t mean to force you to do anything or make you uncomfortable... If I had known...”

She took a sharp breath, her eyebrows furrowed in worry, but above all despair.

“Was it all a lie then? I didn’t make a friend all by myself...?” She sniffled. Deep in her heart, she had the fear that in the end, it would be just a cruel joke she had always been a part of since her grade school days. But this one was more heart-breaking.

Jess was on her back, contemplating. “Wait…. who’s Mokomoko?”

Pouritipu explained along with the Mun.

Jess stared at the reader, bags under her eyes as she was in the sitting position with her back to the cave wall as she was one of the wall ledge's in Tamatoa's lair. Her face was calm.

"Hello whoever's here that is either a friend, a watcher, or simply new. I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I survived the Abyss, spared getting killed, and I have a final chance.... the bad news is that I belong to Tamatoa now as his prisoner for what would seem like a long time. That being said, I wanted to get some things straight."

She took a deep breath before she glared with a scowl.

"First off, I'm not in a good mood and I will never be in a good mood, so don't even try to cheer me up. Second, I cannot leave Tamatoa's lair for ANY REASON. If you want to talk to me or visit, you come here. I would most likely be following his orders when you do so. Finally... I do know that there are people who care about my well being and I appreciate that, but I'm still going to say this anyway."

Here, her teeth sharpened into fangs.

"Don't you dare try to kidnap me or help me. If you do, I won't hesitate to beat you down. That goes for those anons who cause trouble, puts their noses into other people's business, and ruins everything. I am not letting anyone ruin my chance again! ... You think I'm joking? You think you wanna play and test me? In the dimension I came from, let's just say that I'm an expert at giant predators. You drag me down? I'll knock you out. You try shipping me with people again? I'm biting you. If you EVER EVEN THINK ABOUT KISSING MY FRIEND OR TRYING TO STEP INTO ANY BOUNDARIES WHETHER IT'S MINE, TAMATOA'S, OR BRIAN'S, YOU'RE ROYAL DINNER! Now good night!"

Jess jerked her head sharply to send her body to the floor of her ledge, knocking herself out to finally go to sleep after a very long day.

No response.

“Oh, c’mon, I was bitten and paralyzed by a giant spider! And I’m already deep in debt with the king of all Tamatoa’s! I do not need a Monster Gang after me! I’m a human being! Don’t drag me into things!”

“But girl, our mun is the type to watch ourselves suffer.” Pouritipu pointed out.
