hello. do you like Batman. do you like actual play podcasts. my friend @jeffstormer and i have spent the past year making the first season of Batman: Bump In The Night, a playground-style actual play podcast inspired by the question "what if Batman became a paranormal detective who investigated crimes that were a Little Too Weird for the GCPD and other vigilantes"

every episode one of us plays as Batman and the other one brings a mystery to solve and plays the NPCs and the city of Gotham. sometimes we also do guest episodes!

the first season (which has NOW wrapped) just got a fully public feed, and includes:

episodes featuring Duke Thomas, Jason Blood/Etrigan, Crazy Jane, and Azrael

mysteries such as drownings on dry land, the dead coming back to life, a great fire in Gotham, and several supernatural attempts at inciting a mob war

a bonus worldbuilding episode where we sit down and ask "what does our version of Gotham and its citizens look like"

“Come, enough games. Show me your face, boy. Tell me your name. I’ll reward you beyond your greatest wishes if you do. Gold, treasure, pretty silks and more books than you could ever read,” He hated this part, where it dug through as much as it knew of him, of what he had told it when he was young and  stupid, “I’ll treat you like a queen if you just tell me who you are so I can find you.” To kill him, no doubt. To take the eye back, to do whatever it is it planned to do, nothing good if the bloodthirst that curled along his mind had anything to say about it.

They were beyond happy when they found out they were pregnant. (I’ll do a full one shot on this later.)

However, it didn’t really sink in until they went to the doctor and heard the baby’s heartbeat. 

They both cried. 

They kept the happy news to themselves until Aimee was 4 months along.

The couple broke the news to the Todoroki Family during Sunday dinner.

Enji immediately started thinking of what the baby’s quirk would be.

He also definitely called All Might to brag.

Enji was low key disappointed when he found out Aimee was having a girl, but Shoto quickly gave him an attitude adjustment when he reminded his father just how much they went through to get pregnant in the first place. 

Todoroki told all of his friends during a boys night.

“Everyone, I have great news. Aimee is expecting. I’m going to be a father.”

Everyone is so happy for them especially because they knew it was a long time coming.

The couple didn’t address their pregnancy to the media/public formally until Aimee was visibly very pregnant. 

“Mr. Todoroki! Mr. Todoroki! Care to comment on your wife’s pregnancy?”

“I suppose the cat is out of the bag. As you can see she’s nearing the end of her pregnancy and we can’t wait to meet our child. Now please, give her some space.”

Aimee also didn’t tell her class until she was visibly very pregnant.

“My kids are smart. They’ll figure it out eventually.”

From the moment Aimee told Shoto she was pregnant she was not allowed to do anything.

She needs a glass of water? Shoto’s got it. She needs a snack? Shoto’s got it.

Gently scolds her whenever she tries to do housework herself. 

“What are you doing, my love?”

“Just cleaning off the counters.”

“Stop. I’ll take care of that. You shouldn’t be breathing in the chemicals.”

“We use plant-based cleaners.”

“Nevermind that, I’ll do it. Sit down please.”

Aimee’s first trimester was kinda rough.

She didn’t have many episodes of morning sickness, but certain smells would turn her stomach.

This was especially problematic because she teaches middle school.

Middle schoolers can be quite smelly. 

She ended up having to ban her kids from bringing their lunch into her classroom. 

Aimee craved pickles, ice cream, tacos, and mango smoothies throughout her pregnancy.

Shoto would always deliver without question even at 3am.

“Baby…? I want a pickle.”

“You ate the last one after dinner, my love.”

“Ohh…”

“...I’ll go find some.” 

Todoroki is low-key amazed by her changing body. 

Will lay his head against her belly every night and talk softly to baby.

He definitely sang a few jazz standards to her. 

Whenever Kiseki heard his voice she would instantly settle down. 

“What’s wrong, my love? Can’t sleep?

“Nope. Your daughter is tap dancing on my bladder.”

*Laying his head on her stomach* “Little girl. Mommy needs her sleep. Settle down now.”

*Kiseki stops moving as much*

“Sorcerer.”

“She’s just a Daddy’s girl.”

The first time he felt Kiseki kick he couldn’t stop smiling. 

Kiseki was delivered late much to Aimee’s dismay but it went relatively smoothly. (I’ll do a full oneshot on this later.)
