the playful way troye says ‘but please don’t bite’ kills me. the staccato and syncopated beats are so haunting and they remind me of ghost stories and haunted houses--ones that are painted to be terrifying but the thrill of getting the chance to be inside is enough to entice you anyways. it’s lustful but innocent, it’s just kissing but there’s the implication that it can lead to more, to ecstasy, maybe, but also to pain. the echoing of his voice lends to the idea that this is a forsaken place, but once the music cuts in, there are hands sliding and grabbing and bodies slinking and hitting. the beats are almost lazy, in that they hit hard, but only at the right moment: this is sensual and dramatic, and while it seems like it might be fast-paced and dirty right then and there, his words and the melody behind him prove otherwise: it’s slow and time is being stretched until the milliseconds become hours and all you focus on are those lips and that whirl of colour and sound and light and that tiny voice in your head that tells you to be careful of what’s to come but god the touch is more than you’ve ever expected and it’s real and it’s freeing and you’ve never felt so alive despite the fact that you’re scared of being hurt and you’re living, and that’s all that matters, right now, right here. it’s the most scary lullaby you’ve ever heard but it feels so horrifyingly good and your mind is telling you to get the hell out but kisses and touches and the possibility that it’ll be okay holds you and pulls you and it’s chilling and thrilling and biting.
