â i didnât think youâd care. â scott/malia :)
âWhy didnât you tell me?â
Itâs almost midnight, and Malia is standing in his room. Sheâs completely soaked from the heavy rain and her hair is stuck to her face.
âMal, what are you doing here?â Scott hears the tiredness, the exhaustion in his own voice. He lets his fingers slide through his hair and avoids eye contact as he walks around her to close his door.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â She repeats, more persistant this time. Scott tries to walk passed her, but she grabs his wrist and forces him to look at her.
Scott realizes with a shock that her cheeks arenât just wet from the rain.
âHave you - have you been crying?â He asks, suddenly worried.
Malia rubs at her cheeks and sniffs.
âYeah,â she admits, proudly sticking up her chin as if to dare him to make a comment about it.
âWhy?â
âBecause you didnât tell me you died!â
The silence in his room is twice as loud after the last word is said and Malia looks at him furiously. Heâs never seen her so angry, so upset.
âI had to hear it from Mason! Is that why you havenât been at school the last couple of days? Is that why you havenât been picking up your phone?â
Scott doesnât answer, just absentmindedly rubs the wound Theo left him to remind him of his betrayal and sits on his bed.
âScott!â Malia snaps. When he finally looks back up at her, her expression softens.
âWhy didnât you tell me?â She asks for a third time. All the anger and frustration has left her voice, and whatâs left is worry and affection.
âI didnât think youâd care,â he finally whispers. His gaze drops again.
Malia drops to her knees in front of him and takes his hand into hers. It feels cold. Scott normally never feels cold.
âOf course I care, Scott. Why wouldnât I?â
âBecause -â he breathes out, but it sounds more like a strangled sob.
âBecause nobody cares.â
And just like that, she sees him crumble. She watches as the soldier in front of her shrinks to a boy, how her alpha shrinks to a scarred teenager. Whatâs left is sadness and sobs.
He cries in her arms until he has no tears left, and even when he stops crying, he still softly whines. He clings onto her as if sheâs the only one keeping him grounded, as if sheâs the only one keeping him alive.
When he finally calms down and his breathing gets even again, he grabs her hand.
âPlease donât go,â he whispers, and he looks like heâs about to break again.
âI wonât,â Malia promises. She crawls closer to him and wraps him up into her arms.
âIâm right here. Iâll always be right here.â

Scott has rules. Theyâre made out of sheer strategy, given heâs more strategic than not; even if it slips his mind sometimes - even when he doesnât realize.
Scott had a rule. One very unspoken, very vital rule. One that he most certainly broke.
He thinks about it as Stiles rucks the hem of his shirt up to his chest, kisses down his neck, whispers in his ear. These words are counted, absently calculated - they pour out of Stilesâ mouth like poison, but it never fails to send a thrill down Scottâs spine. âGotta do it fast, Scotty.â, âGonna back down on me?â, âShow me how you like it.â. Stiles is vicious, sharp and cutting like a razorâs edge. Itâs a warning, Scott thinks. Itâs alright, he adds later.
âHow do you want it?â Stilesâ voice is always rough when theyâre like this, as if heâs angry. Well, so is Scott.
Scott pushes him, turns around, âBack.â He doesnât wanna see as much as he wants to feel. It never helps - not really - but seeing the twisted look on Stilesâ face doesnât do much for him either, so heâll take whichever seems less like this is his way of punishing himself.
Stilesâ chest is flush against his back in just a second. He mouths at Scottâs nape, reeking of arousal and rage. His hands are calloused now, merciless, too, and it isnât as if Scott had a sample of what they once were, but he knows enough to assume it wasnât this.
Theyâre desperate and sloppy, like theyâve missed each other for lifetimes, but itâs good. Not in the way happiness feels, bright eyed and excited; not warm, or welcoming. Just plainly good, like scratching an itch. A bad decision that begs to be made. Â
Scott used to dread everything that hovers over middle ground, messing with his sense of right and wrong. He did that until he felt it pressed close to his heart; ingrained and fully grown. It feeds on his soul, takes a toll that brings him to his knees - quite literally - but the back of his mind still manages to echo something like a plea and a grace.
*
Theyâre this for too long; long enough for the road back to disappear. Scott doesnât know how normal feels anymore, and it kills him slowly. Stiles looks at him sometimes, mouth screwed shut, a concentrated frown, and thatâs how Scott knows heâs trying to figure it out too.
That doesnât mean they stop, it just means they slip.
(âScott, I miss us.â Itâs true.
âScott, I hate this.â This too.
âScotty, I love you.â Sounds like an apology.)
Itâs a topic now. Their friends whisper about them, how they smell of each other and one thousand different feelings, how they donât touch in front of them anymore, and how when they do it looks like a fight. Scott wants to fix that, too, leave everyone else out of their mess, but itâs too much - always so much.
âYou know we know, donât you?â In the winter Malia covers herself with fake fur, curls up on her bed and rests until forced not to. She looks like a child, hid under grey and beige blankets, just her head poking out. Scott takes pictures of her sometimes, and she always smiles dangerously up at him.
Scottâs heartbeat is steady when he answers, âYes.â And its enerving even to himself; to know he doesnât really mind it all that much.
âWeâre worried about you. The both of you.â She confesses, after a pause, and even her care sounds stubborn in her voice. Scott loves it. âMostly you, though."
"Iâm fine.â He smiles, âItâs okay."
Malia rolls her eyes, "Iâm guessing youâve got it under control?â Her mockery isnât as bitter, not ever, it sounds innocent and lighter than any else.
âYeah. Yeah I do."
Thatâs where his heart skips a beat.
*
"Malia and I have a bet.â Kira smiles warm and kind, blushing after three shots of the piss looking drink Mason found to inebriate them. âFeels wrong. Mean, I mean. But she makes it sound okay.â She confides.
The music around them is loud, and Scott can see Stilesâ careless dancing from the corner of his eyes. Thereâs someone with him, and theyâre too close, a pool of heat. Itâs nothing like it wouldâve been two years ago, when Stiles was lanky and clumsy to no end - but thatâs just beside the point.
âAre you sure you should be telling me this?â Scott asks, even though he wants to know about the bet - has a feeling about what it is.
Kira pauses and frowns, bites on her lip, âI just want you to be happy.â Her eyes are bright and young - they make him think of how long sheâll live; how many sheâll outlive - and the sincerity almost makes him ache.
âI manage.â He guarantees, catching her hand with his.
She twists her lips, clearly unsatisfied, but squeezes his fingers reassuringly before proceeding. âWeâre betting on whoâll give in first.â Her eyes follow the corner of Scottâs, eyeing Stilesâ lost dancing, now very much alone.
âOh.â He lowers his head, âI think we might be -"
"You two getting back together?â Malia rests her chin against Kiraâs head, hand keeping a loose grip around her red cup. She loops a protective arm around her girlfriendâs waist, and though Scott knows sheâs playful, thereâs always a hint of truth behind her words.
Kira closes her eyes, half past done, âThis joke is getting really old."
Scott smiles at them and shuffles away as soon as Maliaâs lips cover the corner of Kiraâs mouth - heâs seen more than enough in the past to know that his presence doesnât impact in whatever unravels from then on. He makes his way smoothly through the crowd, eyes locked on Stilesâ frame.
He takes Stiles home tonight, hides his bike behind the bushes and heads in with Stilesâ hands roaming his back, lips sealed under his jaw. "You staying over?â (âThis just a quick fuck?â, âDine and dash?â) Scott hears every version of the question over it.
âDo you want me to?â He whispers back, letting himself be kissed. Heâs never asked this before - heâs been angry and not particularly interested on asking what is it that Stiles wants.
Stiles doesnât stop, not for a second, instead he lets his hands search down to the small of Scottâs back and pulling him closer, âI want whatever you want."
Thatâs certainly not something Stiles has said either.
*
He wakes up to the sight of Stilesâ naked back. The boyâs still, sitting on the edge of the bed. It doesnât suit him at all, but itâs been like that since he wasnât himself - since he got invaded and stolen.
"Thereâs breakfast downstairs.â Stiles says idly. âDadâs off to the station. I think he already knew, though."
Scott bites his lip, "I hid the bike."
"Yeah. I remember.â He finally turns - not enough to look, but enough so that Scott knows.
Stiles threads their fingers together, making sure to keep their eyes locked together. âHow âs it feel?â His voice is honeyed and slurred, at the very brink of care pouring out of his mouth.
Scott considers falling out of the conversation. He isnât thinking straight, not when heâs getting a bitter taste of something he wants to badly, but words have a way of escaping sometimes, and very little can be done about it, âGood. Thatâs good."
"Good.â Scott lurches forward and seals their lips together. Theyâve never been this soft, working slowly. Stilesâ lingering back and forth gets him noosing his legs around Stilesâ waist, silently asking for more of whatever heâs got.
âI donât know what to do.â Stiles breathes out. âDonât know how to fix it. I feel like Iâve been letting you down for years, even if you donât know. Even if I didnât. And then I try to not fuck things up, but I make it worse. So I donât know what to do.â He shrugs hopelessly, and turns forward again, letting his elbows rest on his knees.
Scottâs instincts tell him to reach for him, to comfort and appease. He doesnât do that, though - heâs been learning, even through some of his newly most common mistakes. âI canât fix that for you."
When Stiles looks back this time, he pays attention, searches Scottâs expression and takes it all in. "I know - Iâm -â He scoots back, one leg back on the bed, âScott, I wanna work on it.â
âNot like this, though, right?â He urges, feeling restless all of the sudden, âBecause this is wrong. It feels wrong. I donât wanna be angry anymore and I donât think -â Scott chokes, âWe canât keep doing this. We shouldnât have done it in the first place. Not like this."
"You think I donât know that?â Stiles narrows his eyes. âIâm gonna figure it out, okay? Iâm gonna figure something out."
Scott nods, preparing to gather his things, "I really hope you do."
*
The seasons used to feel more pointed when he was a kid, like he could see the colors change according to each station of the year. Spring feels a lot less pink now that heâs grown, and it rolls around him like itâs air. He feels a little numb, he supposes, a little bit out of himself. Heâs hurt in the way that pulses instead of stinging.
Stiles seems ever present, but thatâs just because heâs really always been. Scott canât remember a single rift in the past, so maybe this is why he feels so inadequate all of the time. Stiles is always looking, like heâs trying to learn something new thatâll crack this open and reveal a solution to him.
Scott wishes heâd look into himself sometimes.
("I canât even imagine what Iâd do.â Mason says once, arms resting on his knees. âBeing apart like this.â He nods towards Stiles.
âItâs hard.â Scott presses his lips in a thin line. âI donât think he totally gets whatâs wrong.â
âHave you tried telling him?"
He sighs, "Iâm not sure Iâd have the guts to tell him."
Heâs not sure where heâd start.)
*
The summer is merciless. His skin feels tight and boiling hot, the dry air making his nose prickle and his lips chap. Malia thrives like no other, and marks down all the water sources around them, makes everyone promise theyâll go. They make big plans like theyâre not who they are, and they forget about it a few times. Scott thinks it happens to him when he laughs too hard and tears prickle in the corner of his eyes. Kira says itâs when they pretend effortlessly.
Itâs the summer when Stiles approaches him.
"Can you give me a ride today?â He sinks his hands inside his pockets like theyâre fifteen again, jittery with expectation.
âDo you think thatâs a good idea?"
Stiles shrugs, "Itâs an idea.â He reasons, âWeâre gonna have to face it sooner or later."
Scott closes his eyes, "Thatâs not what it is about, Stiles."
He waits a beat, nostrils flaring, "Then what is it?â He flails angrily, âHuh?! Itâs been months! Of small talk and bullshit. Weâve had time!"
The racing of Scottâs heart doesnât take its time today, it slams him as soon as Stiles raises his voice. Heâs got flashbacks, one thousand little memories for Stilesâ outbursts. The last one of his outbursts. "You hurt me!â Scott yells back, for the first time, and it feels like his lungs and his mouth work without his consent. âI needed you and you hurt me. You donât even notice, you donât even know, and maybe I shouldnât - maybe itâs wrong that I resent it, but I donât know how to keep forgiving you without -"
"Scott,â Stiles frowns, reaching forward. Scott gives a step back.
âI was not okay. I shouldâve said I wasnât, but I - they needed me and I -â He struggles with the words, loses himself in an explanation. How can he even begin to explain whatâs been brewing and ready to explode for so long?
Stilesâ hands are on him soon enough, gripping him to the shoulders, âScott, stop.â He whispers, inching closer. His hand roams up, taking his jaw. He swipes a tear away, eyes opened wide and scared - heâs so scared, Scott can smell it all over him. Stiles opens his mouth once, twice, then âIâm so sorry.â He pulls Scott closer, draws him in, arms wrapping around him protectively. âI didnât know. I love you, Iâm sorry."
Scott doesnât know how long they stay like this, drawn back into each otherâs orbits, breathing it all in, but itâs the closest to peace heâs gotten in a long time. He thinks back to their walk towards the edge, and Stilesâ angry, quick hands, how they shook the first time and never again. Theyâre soothing now, drawing circles on his back, and it feels like they can do it. "S'not so easy, y'know?â He comments idly, sniffing just a bit.
âYeah.â Stiles sighs, âIâm gonna need you to tell me stuff. Donât spare me.â
Scottâs calm wavers at the thought, but he swallows his reservations down just this once, âOkay. Weâll figure it out.â Â
*
âThis is stupid.â Malia runs the back of her hand through her forehead one more time. âThe leaves are supposed to stay on the ground, that why they fall.â
âMal, we canât just walk on a bunch of leaves for a whole season.â Kira pats her shoulder, admiring their pile of leaves.
âWhy not?â Malia frowns, crossing her arms.
Stiles nods from the other side of the yard, âExactly! Why not? I mean, itâs not like weâd be stepping on small babies. And the earth would swallow them down eventually, anyway."
"Weâre not starting that tradition today, though, so you can keep adding to the pile.â Scott smiles up at him, rolling up his leaves for the hundredth time since theyâve started this. Stiles rolls his eyes and takes his neglected rake, pulling a dissatisfied face. Scott laughs, loving the company. It barely feels like they hadnât been shoulder to shoulder for a while there now.
âNext year Maliaâs ideaâs the one weâre using. No more doing natureâs job.â Stiles announces, flinging the rake way too far, way too hard. Malia nods furiously from afar, kicking the leaves into a black bag.
Scott feels sated, like theyâve reached balance after too many storms along a short way. His heartâs full - the fullest when Stilesâ hand takes his, draws them close to their hearts and whispers sweet words into his ears. The pain comes back at times, dull, but there, just a reminder, and it takes a toll. But they work on it, faulty as they do. Theyâre figuring it out.

i asked a few people and they all told me that they see the problem in firefox... btw, in explorer it ate the bottom of description box, you can't scroll down on that (again posted picture)...i tried clear my cache, restart browser. but you're right, it's beautiful in chrome :)
Weird... well, like I said, itâs utilized for Chrome, and I donât know how to fix that problem since I canât see it. ;__; My apologies!
I posted a picture of that... it seems that it only does it in Explorer and Firefox. But it looks fine in Chrome tho...
Can you ask someone else to double check on Explorer/Edge and Firefox to see if itâs a browser issue or not? I double checked on my computer and I donât seem to be seeing that issue, only other cross-browser issues that canât be fixed (and arenât major enough to be pointed out). I should also remind you that my themes are optimized for Chrome. ;o;
Hi! Sorry for bothering, I was trying to instal one of your themes (love it, so glad you made 540px versions) and I don't know how or why, but I have this "missing picture" above/under every post and I just... can't seem to find the reason why so... help, please? :)
Hey there! I took a look at your current theme and it looks fine to me-- I canât see the issue youâre talking about, so I think it might be your computer. The only thing I noticed was that you should probably add something to your subtitle section (or remove it, but I donât remember if I included that option or not); otherwise, it seems perfectly fine! I suggest emptying your cache and/or restarting your browser.
