I gave birth and it’s like, the weirdest thing.
I’m a he/they trans guy. And it reflects in how I see myself as a parent.
Most of the time, I am Momo. I am in that grey area of not mother or father, but some other, third thing.
And then I sit there with a mug of tea and my slippers and the cardigan my dad wore the day I was born and suddenly, I am Dad. It feels so right in little moments, just not permanently.
I think giving birth has made me realise my gender is a little more fluid than I was giving it credit for. Girl and she will never work for me but the rest of the gender spectrum is my playground and I’m having way too much fun on the roundabout.
