Sharing a rant I posted elsewhere
I thought of this post I saw on Discord It was pertaining to people refusing to acknowledge the UTDR humans as non-binary and it's that there isn't any preexisting trope or precedent for a RPG (Or any genre) protagonist to have a gender that's "up to your interpretation"
Even with my own limited personal RPG experience, I have only seen RPGS that have a male lead or a RPG that lets you choose a gender at the start. UT/DR are one of the few RPG games, at least before 2015-18, to actually have a protagonist that is STRICTLY referred to with They/Them
At the end of the day, it just circles right back to UT/DR fans not reading the dialogue within the games. They continuously forget that Frisk, Kris, and Chara are their own people that we happen to control. They have their own lives. We don't know them no matter how much you attempt to live through
I'd like to share this one line of Undertale dialogue that inspired all this ranting in the first place.
It made me think "Do NB-phobic UTDR fans take the time to correctly gender Napstablook"? Do they take the time to at least gender UTDR characters that are CONSCIOUSLY referred to with they/them pronouns?
I already kind of have my answer because people couldn't be normal about being corrected about Seam's pronouns on a Reddit thread. The bottom line is that they don't care about Non-Binary people, because if they did, they'd respect these character's pronouns. They'd actually consider that consciously MISGENDERING a character probably means they take no consideration in a NB person or any trans person's pronouns to begin with. But I guess that's up to interpretation
Thing that has bothered me for a bit
I've seen a few people here and on Bluesky call Noelle and Susie's relationship in Deltarune artificial or something among those lines and I'm sure they don't really intend on coming off as, it just feels kind of weird describing their relationship within the game like that. It's not like it's something that's supposed to happen in universe according to prophecy or anything. They hit it off well because they have good chemistry. They fill in voids for each other!!
I find it a little interesting and kind of funny that Snoopy is portrayed as a Corporal in The Inamorata Consequence. He's only been shown doing surveillance work and there's definitely at least one OSI agent that, a few seasons ago, would probably be more befitting of the "Corporal" rank (cough cough, Sky Pilot). But for reasons likely relating to being a somewhat notable recurring character and being voiced by John Hodgman, he got to be put in a rank of importance. And just to be clear, I love Snoopy! He's cool. Not trying to bash him
I'm making a post about the backgrounds that feature in my art since it's apparent people do take a interest in them. Being frank, I don't think about them a lot of the time. While it's my handiwork with the edits, I don't MAKE the backgrounds. I nab publicly available photos off the internet and put them through hell in paint.net.
Usually I'll tweak the contrast or level, overlay or multiply a color gradient of some kind, and I'll top it off with applying a oil paint or crystallization effect and maybe some minor vignetting..Oh yeah, and the deep velvet borders.. I'm pretty one-trick if you ask me, but I do produce some real standouts now and then. Within the last three months I've also began using a color reducer plugin as well. This is the one and only way I'm letting H**mes***k ever inspire me in any way.
Apparently, people really like the first one, and I don't blame them. I did a pretty good job on those clovers looking back at it. My personal favorite work by far though is the 2nd one. It's an adaptation of an area from the Super Mario 64 mod B3313, and it was done using heavy photo manipulation and painting through paint.net AND Clip Studio Paint. Makes me think I could do some real Everdraed type stuff some day. Maybe... If you're interested in more backgrounds, then just keep reading, if you'd like anyway.

It just occurred to me Rouxls brief polyamory moment is the most that man has ever held a position of dominance because he's too busy trying to be 2nd in command otherwise

I have zilch in game dev-pertise but I am kinda thinking about just straight up making my Gallery of the Killer project into: An actual interactive gallery game. Would definitely look into getting other artists on board if I do because there's no way in hell I can draw up EVERYTHING while managing school life
