The cryptic words, though said toward the newspaper he was reading, seemed directed at the woman who sat down at the table next to him. The words were quiet so no one around him would hear, but just loud enough that someone close by would.

the last few times I wasn’t even home this is the first time they got one with just me here and he’s at work I’m hoping his dad comes in for lunch soon and then I can get him to get it. My cat is STILL keeping it trapped under the blanket and I have no idea if its alive or dead or anything she won’t let me look ( not that I’m putting in any sort of effort to look at all lol )
