the bird managed to live through 2 nights in a shoe box with a warmth of a hot compress :> we named them sperry cuz that so happens to be the name of the box lol. they almost died the other day im pretty sure cuz it kept poopin cuz they were fed outmeal that might've had sugar with it and they were concerningly weak. but they managed to recover overnight with the help of cat food <3 we might need to start catchin insects for this guy tho. also, im 100% sure its a sparrow. they're quite common in my area.

Quetzal time baby!
Current bird: Quetzal
I once got a quetzal facepainted on but the lady who did it didn't know what it was so it was slightly sad. Still cool though! Was gonna do a different bird but people left me birds when I asked and I was reminded I love this one. Like love it. Thank you for leaving me the bird I love it so. Like love it it's so awesome and it's colorful and long tail. Bird. <3
Any plans on what to do with the parrot. Id hate for this little guy to just stay lost
I have absolutely no idea
My dad says we should keep him but I'm not sure we can take him home through a six hour car ride :(
We already have a cage at home for a similar bird that we're giving away soon, so he would have a home anyway. But the problem is the trip really.
I wish we knew his owners but we really don't know anything. For now we're probably gonna keep him inside and get some bird food tomorrow.

what's this? a bird update?? but it's been so long!
I've seen a bunch of different bird species collect twigs for their nests in my area and it's just so fullfilling to know that little flapper with a twig in its beak is preparing for having tiny feathery little fledglings around!
what's even more adorable is them sorta chewing on the small branches? I first assumed the first pigeon I saw was just struggling to pick it up, but now that I've noticed many different birds do it I think they're testing how sturdy the material is!
witnessing them hanging around again almost makes spring my favourite season of the year. but just almost!
I think I'll need to tell the short incident of the floppy pigeon in our yard another day, since this update is pretty long already. have a nice next 24 hours and don't forget to look outside! you might be able to catch a couple birdies in your view :>
THE EGG IS THUMPING.
