Facial feathers are so interesting.
(American Goldfinch, most likely a male, and female Redbellied Woodpecker)
I have called Goldfinches a Seinfeld bird before because they remind me of Jerry’s girlfriend whose face looked different in different situations. Goldfinches look absolutely adorable from the side but always a bit odd in frontal view.
These faces <3
Remember the Dove that was attacked by a Starling the other day? I think this might be the one. Despite the tussled “hair” it seems to do ok. I also got the Safflower out and am cutting the Starlings off now. This is a little bit different than my regular angle, but I liked the straigt look into the camera. (watermark is bigger because my social media has blown up and people are more eager to take pics and use them for their own stuff)

When the bowl is empty, they demand more.
Bonus. The face of disappointment.
Blue Jay faces. From afar, they all seem to look the same, but nope.
