How did you find Biol 324 (intro to seed plant with shona) compared to Biol 343 (plants and society with shona)? 343 was the first plant course I took, and I really loved it, although I did find that there is a lot of to memorize for the lab final. I also found that 343 is more interdisciplinary, and more relaxed on the science aspect. How does 324 compare to that and is it more memorization heavy than 343? Also, would you say that 324 is a worthwhile course where you got a lot out of it?
Oh my goodness, I love those 2 courses to absolute pieces, I really do. 324 was more memorization heavy, you do have to remember specific details from your notes for the exams. 343 was less focused on the scientific details, and more about the applications.
I learned a lot about taxonomy in 324, you don’t really get a chance to get in depth in other courses. Shona teaches it really well, she really has some sort of magic touch. Unlike some of my other memorization-heavy courses, where I end up forgetting everything in a few months *cough*CAPS*cough*, I actually still remember a bit from 324. I can still identify various plants I see on the streets by family. (The only interesting skill I have now tbh).
