I have an unorganized fan campaign idea that has him after the events of The Parish, where the survivors (much like the L4D1 group) are in CEDA custody and taken to a remote base within Pennsylvania, and are inadvertently experimented on due to the desperation the government has to stop the infection and using the carriers as guinea pigs basically to create an antidote. This lasts for a few weeks with October going into November and Obviously messed up the gang(Especially Nick who already had horrible trust issues to begin with). And surprise surprise!! A hoard of infected, specials, and Tanks eventually overrun the base!! Giving the survivors a chance to reunite one another and to escape the base Dead Center style (albeit no Jimmy Gibbs this time :()

Although the survivors were lucky enough to escape, they *were* followed by a much more beefier and even angrier* Tank... with that despite all their efforts of trying to escape it, the survivors are backed into a corner within the mountains during a snowstorm and in an attempt to dodge an attack of the large beast, it hits Nick and injures him severely (we're talking broken legs here...) as he slams against what sounds like metal, only then does a voice ring out, shouting at them to get inside the opening hatch. Where the super Tank was unable to find the survivors. Thus, they meet Dune :)
