All y'all who are binding in this heat-death summer, I feel you. Drink water, darlings, and remember to give your ribs a break when you're uncomfortable/start feeling pain. I love you. ❤️
I'm putting on my binder when I get home. We're in bad chest dysphoria territory today.
okay, I will complain about one last thing
my chest hurts and, seeing as I haven't worn any kind of bra or compression top in three weeks, I guess it's not binding or my sports bras that are the problem, it might just be the thing I've been getting blood work for which... is simultaneously a relief and also, holy shit, body can we just... function normally...
I stopped wearing bras recently, (feel like I mentioned that before), and it's fine, I think I've mananged to avoid headlights at work and I'm an A cup so it doesn't really matter too much and everything, but one of the problems is now I want to bind really, really badly and that's... definitely not an option. If sports bras are bothering me, there is no freaking way I should put on a binder.
Most of the time, it's fine and I can ignore my chest no problem (helped along by the lack of anything touching my chest), but other times, I just...
I talked to my sister a little bit about it this weekend and she was like, I don't understand, you're small enough, it's probably not even a noticeable difference + binding sounds uncomfortable, and that has been kind of sticking in my head a bit this week. I don't know what to do except... wait it out? Keep giving my ribs a break until maybe I can bind for a couple hours without pain? Idk.

I bound a lot more from 2012 to 2015, but I was dumb about it a lot. I think the longest I wore a binder once was 12.5 hours which... I do not recommend.
But I don't think I've bound in like... at least a month. And I could only manage maybe 6 hours tops. Ugh.
Bound for the last two days and took it off when it started being uncomfortable. Managed 7.5 hours yesterday and about 6 today.
I think maybe I overdid it just a tad since I'm in some minor pain right now, but I'm proud of myself for not pushing through it to the detriment of my ribs.
I don't bind as often as I did in college and certainly not all the time, but I feel all kinds of mixed up these days because I'm spending so much time as a Southern Belle Lady onstage.
Our dressing room has wall to wall mirrors and I can barely look myself in the eye when I'm putting on Blanche and her clothes, and when I'm trying to ease back into myself. It's especially hard because I don't quite know how to talk about it with my cast without sounding strange. I knew this role was going to be difficult/a challenge, but I didn't know it was going to hit me hard right in the dysphoria I thought had quieted.
I'm really disappointed I couldn't even make it to 4 hours binding today.
