peter couldn’t help but smirk, only for it to turn to one of slight frustration. it’d have been so nice to let himself show just how skilled he could be when he wanted. but, that wasn’t what, ben would have wanted. and it wasn’t who peter was. and what would have been the fun in trying to hurt, demetri? how would that conversation go over at work? “ okay, but just remember to take it easy on me.” putting his hands up, peter bounced on the balls of his feet. he didn’t have the same amount of training that, demetri had. but he had a few lessons, so he knew the proper way to stand. “ I’d hate to have to use a sick day, can’t leave you to do all the house calls yourself.”
hearing about how demetri had been last year was like a flashback of his life before the bite. he’d seen firsthand at the tournament last year, just how good demetri had gotten. and he did it all on his own skill and determination. it was more impressive than getting a quick boost, like peter did. he had to remember control, keep his training weights on. so to speak. feigning a jab with his left hand, quickly bringing his left leg up for a quick snap kick. doing his best to telegraph it, to peter, it felt like he was moving his leg in slow motion.
