(◬)—Glyde’s face was as red as his eyes, and in his brown hands he held a small package wrapped in paper the shade of pale pink.
That same package he was holding close to his chest as if it was the most important thing in the world. Well, to him it was the most important thing in the world. Blinking rapidly, he looked to his right, and then to his left, then forward, and then glanced quickly at the wrapped package again before letting out a deep sigh of worry. Swallowing thickly, he turned the package over in his hands, staring intently at it, and then placed it upon his lap neatly. The package was meant to be a gift, a gift for Roll-san, and it was something that friends usually don’t give each other.
It was an expensive heart-shaped necklace; there was a red-shaped heart piece that was surrounded with decorative golden swirls and it hung from a thin golden chain. The reason why Glyde bought it was because, in passing, Roll had spotted it, commented that she liked it, but lamented that it was far too expensive. To him, however, it costed mere pocket change, and while Roll had her back turned and kept her attention to the rest of their friends, who were out with them, he managed to sneak into the store to buy it before anyone had noticed that he left.
The next few days he had wrapped it, waited impatiently for himself to gain enough courage to give it to her, and just earlier today he had messaged her to meet up with her to give it to her. Granted, there was another reason why he had bought her this gift: he liked her, had liked her for a long while, kept the fact that he had been horribly crushing on her for years, and somewhere along the line, he snapped, which caused him to buy such an elaborate, expensive, and obvious gift (it was heart-shaped, for crying out loud). The Navi just hoped that she returned his affections.
