Shademan heaved a sigh and rolled his eyes–he had to look away to gather himself. 

“You had me worried, BrightMan. Ease up next time that you decide to do your testing. My resources aren’t totally endless.”

“Next time I may consider sending another Darkloid to supervise. You wouldn’t want to be babysat.”

For once, that wide grin of his dropped, replaced by confusion. The way ShadeMan was speaking. Worried? Seemed a little unrealistic. Even with his own blunder to cover for, BrightMan felt the urge to jump on that.

“Yes… I can understand why you’d want to keep a low profile. Not everyone has forgiven or forgotten our past transgressions. Some will continue to hate us no matter how much we try to make up for it…”

During his and Anetta’s rehabilitation, it was made clear how true it was when so many people reminded them of their attack on the hospital to be spiteful. Many even said horrible things that were the equivalent to telling them that the world was better off without them. If it wasn’t for Chaud continuing to encourage them that they can turn their lives around and make up for all the horrible things they’ve done, he and Anetta would have probably given up.

That’s not to say it doesn’t hurt. The guilt is still very much painful to this day. And even though Lan said that Mamoru would forgive them since he’s such a sweet kid, neither he nor Anetta had the courage to face the boy.

What Quickman said next was something that really made Plantman’s day.

“I’m glad to hear you say that. There are still so many who don’t see the appeal of flowers, or even nature in general. Whenever I see a garden, it’s like looking at a beautiful painting made by nature itself. You can learn a lot about a person from looking at their garden.”

“You’ve got that right...” QuickMan found himself able to shrug off passing comments relatively easily, but he knew not everyone shared his attitude. Including his Operator, even if he could hide it well outwardly. There were some people he found difficulty facing again as well... “But hey. I don’t plan on judging you. Would be a hypocrite move.”

So, he recognized him. Well when you were not only a member of a big terrorist group like WWW, but also nearly responsible for the deaths of many innocent people in the hospital, including children like Mamoru, of course you’d be recognized.

But now that he thought about it, this Navi looked oddly familiar as well. Where did he see him before…?

…Gospel!

That’s right, this Navi used to be part of Gospel. Of course, with their leader now doing everything he can to atone for his sins and even joining RiFT’s team, perhaps this Navi is also looking to forsake his dark past and start over.

“Yes… And you are Quickman, correct. We both have pasts where we were part of an evil organization that has been disbanded for awhile. Am I correct to assume we both want the same thing; to leave our pasts behind and turn over a new leaf?”

“So you’ve heard. Not exactly a great way to get famous...” The lower tone he’d fallen into briefly was hurriedly set aside, however, at PlantMan’s last question. “You got it. We’re done with usin’ crime to get what we want. It wasn’t gettin’ us anywhere good. He still wants to stay a bit on the down-low though, which is why I’m the one placing the order.” 

He didn’t want to say it, but QuickMan did miss the adrenaline rush of it all. He’d believed in helping his Operator achieve his goals, of course, but showing off his own skills felt good. Thankfully, he was sure he could find better alternatives. Thrills didn’t have to come in the form of committing crimes, after all.

It was Plantman’s first day working at the Flower Shop. It seems he has a customer.

“Oh! Why hello there. Have you come to buy some flowers?”

The newcomer Navi logged in with an assured smile on his face. He looked eager to poke around and take everything in all at once, but he had to learn to pace himself. This was a flower store, not some kind of challenge, and besides...

“Well, ah, y’knooow!”

For being sorry he certainly didn’t look very sorry. Playing things up was his specialty, after all.

“Hmmm... warehouse deal in the Real World... gonna be hard to measure 'till the Dimensional Area’s up, but that’s never stopped me!”

BrightMan is laid down on the floor by the army of frogs. Utterly defeated. “Egh... can’t believe it, I was so close..!”

“The way back is... frogs? I mean... sure, as long as I can go back. It’s not bad here, but it feels so out of place.” 

In fact, he can hear them now. It’s getting louder. With loud yelling mixed in.

A whole line of frogs. A link between homes.

“Dude, what are you doing down there ? Did you get lost or something ?”

“Oh Dingo thank goodness.

“……Where are we.”

Eugh, I can smell the neglect on the walls of this place.
