Thor dwelt with his wife Sif and their children in Asgard.  His hall was named Bilskirnir, which means 'lightning crack'.  It is sometimes referred to as the greatest building in all creation, which may reflect the fact that later in the Viking Age, Thor began to eclipse even Odin in importance.  The settlers of Iceland venerated Thor above all others. Thor had a daughter named Thrud with his wife Sif.  A Valkyrie of the same name also existed, but it is not clear whether this was Thor's daughter or simply someone else with the same name.  Thor had two sons, Magni and Modi, by the giantess Járnsaxa.  After his death at Ragnarok they inherited his hammer and survived into the new world created afterwards.
