Pupdate
(Content warning: gross stuff)
On Friday, Bilo refused to eat all day, and then we found blood in his poop. We had a seven-hour ER adventure that cost as many hundreds of dollars, which is so neat and nifty, love when numbers work out like that 😎
Seems like gastroenteritis, though no one knows why, since he hasn’t been exposed to anything, and he doesn’t have diarrhea or vomiting. He got a new round of antibiotics, some probiotics, and a new food. He has some of his appetite back, though that isn’t saying much because getting him to eat has always been a headache.
In all the ER hullabaloo, he pulled one of his stitches a bit. Today, he puked a little. (Probably because he never wants to eat, which makes the medicines rough on his tummy.) Then, somehow he pulled the stitch a heck of a lot more. Thankfully, we see the vet tech tomorrow morning about removing the stitches. (Which will obviously not go quite as according to plan.) (He’s not actively bleeding, don’t worry.) We’ll see what they say!
So all in all, he’s not doing great, but he’s also not dying or anything, so we’ll count that as a win for now.
Personal update:
