The Divided Twin by M. Billiter Release Announcement!
I gotta call out one of my personal favorites, M. Billiter who just released the second installment in her Divided Series, The Divided Twin on Saturday!
Take a look today! The Kindle copies are $.99 and $2.99, so really not a budget breaker. I love these books and I hope you will too!
Seriously, if you have the time, work this in as well as the first installment, A Divided Mind. It's a heartfelt story that follows a family afflicted by strong psychosis issues and it's beautifully written because it's based on her own son's experience.
I sent Mary Billiter a request on Goodreads a couple weeks ago asking her if she would be open to a signing of her newly published book “A Divided Mind” and not only was she responsive but she was a gem! She was delighted by the request and even personalized the autograph to me and added a bunch of goodies from all of her published works.
This was more than I could have hoped and I’m oh so grateful!
The Divided Twin
A BookBud Review
By M. Billiter and Kyle Thomas
Finished 04-01-2020
Genre: Contemporary/Mental Health
Basic Plot: Branson has been doing better, Trevor’s voice has seemed to dissipate and he’s really doing alright now, as far as we know. Aaron and Branson are in college now, seniors actually, and both are dealing with some very dark times in there own rights. The divides are growing harsher and these twins need to come together to overpower all the demons, whatever they may be.
Notable Quote(s):
“Everyone has a voice in their head. Mine was just a little louder.”
“I knew it didn’t help me or anyone if I bullshitted my way through this and gave the expected answer. But there were still some truths I just wasn’t ready to face, let alone voice.”
“Home. I didn’t even know where that was anymore.”
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Readability: 5/5
Plot Interest: 5/5
Creativity: 4/5
I just want to start off by thanking M. Billiter for sending me an advanced, autographed copy of The Divided Twin and for her and her sons ability to invest in this series and provide a very meaningful story. Also for their generosity in allowing me to read this long before it comes out on June 27th this year (Amazon is taking pre-orders now though, get a copy today!) Thanks again!
I’m in awe. Let’s start with the plot itself. I found a nice balance here, some twists I expected but the results were highly unexpected. Overall, it was a very intriguing plot that never seemed to dull. With that, I have to give credit to the raw emotions portrayed in this work. It was devastating to say the least. It has so many components involved; fear, anxiety, anger, love, betrayal, devastation, you name the emotion, I’ll find a spot it was present in this book. Then there’s the relatable characters and issues. Mental health, family bonds, family divides. abuse, romance, it has literally everything and it all comes down to these twins. These amazing twin brothers and everything that’s given to us as readers in their relationship. I honestly can’t believe how amazing this book was still.
I gave it an obvious 5 out of 5 and have literally nothing negative to say about it. The writing feels real, like someone sitting down and telling you about themselves. It’s so raw but stays so composed, I really don’t know how someone writes like this. Then there’s the additive of Kyle Thomas’s perspective that just really throws you into the trenches with him. It was immaculate. I loved every second of reading this and it literally made me cry.

I’d like to give a HUGE thank you to the author of this book who I reached out to last year for an autograph in my copy of A Divided Mind.
I loved this book so much and I am so very excited to read this second one which is to be released on June 27th (go get a copy right now! It’s on sale on Kindle if you pre-order).
This ARC was given to me from the author herself and signed again. I adore it! They look amazing together and I cannot wait to dig into this novel.
It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first also either way. Billiter is an amazing author and has a very personal stake in these novels as they are targeted around her own son’s mental illness.
The second book the two of them even share a byline and the reviews are amazing! Here’s what M. Billiter herself has to say about it...
Please please please check these out if you find yourself needing a new book and have interest in anything involving psychology and family dynamics.
Oh my goodness I’m fangirling so hard!!
I sent Mary Billiter (Author of A Divided Mind) a request over Goodreads to see if she’d be willing to sign a copy for a fan, and oh my gosh it was even more than I could have expected!
She is an amazing woman and author and I hope all the best for her career and life, I really have never been so excited for a book in my whole life! Thank you so so much, this really means the absolute world to me!
Please please please do yourself a favor and BUY THIS BOOK!
When Amanda Marie reached out to me about sending me a copy of, “A Divided Mind” for me to sign, I pretty much felt like I won the lottery.
A Divided Mind
Book Review

Genre: Psychological Contemporary
Basic Plot: Branson, a seventeen year old track star with a bright future, is faced with a crippling change, he is Schizophrenic. His mother and family try their best to help him face his illness but everything is changing and his delusions are only getting worse. This is one family’s tale of how mental illness can change your whole world.
I received an advance review copy for free through BookSirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved this. Really, truly loved this. I am always interested in mental health novels, especially ones about schizophrenia and ones that contain dark undertones. This book delivered on every front and exceeded extremely well in one aspect, it’s based on real experience and was extremely heartfelt in ways that most can’t achieve. This author really drags you through the emotional upheaval someone can go through when diagnosed with a life altering mental illness. It’s written beautifully and you can really feel the connections in this book.
I gave it a full 5 out of 5 because there was nothing at all I disliked about this. It was a little creepy and dark at times as well as informative and touching. I would recommend this book to nearly anyone as I think it has a little something for every person to take away with them.
