The distinction between sport and game is better compared to the relationship between squares and rectangles. All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares. Likewise, most occurrences of a sport are games, but not all games are sports.
There is some controversy surrounding whether billiards a sport or not. Some people believe it’s just a recreational activity, while others argue it is a physical sport. The main difference between billiard and other sports is the fact that the object of the game is to hit balls with sticks rather than run around and throw punches.
