One of the most amazing things about staying in Deals Gap is that your Motorcycle is just outside your road and kind of like the furniture. People drop in and talk about it and you make new friends. During our US ride, my son and I took a detour off a highway. As we rode past a town, my son told me: “hey pops, this looks like Radiator Springs”. It was deep. For those who aren’t familiar with Raditor Springs, it’s a town from the movie Cars. Once a flashy town, it lost its shine after a highway was built around it. But the town had character and the young racer revives it after moving his HQ there. Highways (even in India) are meant to swiftly move traffic from point A to B. Such a great boom. But they are also most boring. Straight lines. No trees on the sides. And most often, they bypass some “history”. AI is the new highway. Soon, people will be “used less”. Not that I have something against AI but if machines continue to replace people, where will all the people go? Unemployment will create unrest. It was one crazy long ride. It wasn’t the distance by the heat. Trust me, Chennai heat was better than what we experienced. Riding through the Cherahola Skyway was fun and the trees on both sides were kind of keeping it cool but it wasn’t enough. Also, one thing that liked and disliked is that you can’t stop in places of your choice. Need to look for these view points.
