As I have told you in my previous post, I received my Bali ticket’s refund into AIR ASIA BIG POINTS!

How could it happen? Because of my flight to Bali was rescheduled and coincidently it happened to return trip. It is meant to be (thank God!).

I was thinking so hard on how to spend it....where to travel around Malaysia? Since I was not allowed to leave the country.

Okay, let me share you a few top destinations in Malaysia:

I have been to Penang, Georgetown, and yes KL for sure!

Langkawi is on everyone’s top list...so, I booked it first! But I got still remaining balance. I still can’t believe how cheap is the local flight in Malaysia. Oh, that’s why I love Malaysia so much, and Air Asia of course!

So, with my remaining balance...I could buy tickets to Kota Kinabalu! It took like a week to think about booking Kota Kinabalu because I NEVER TRAVELLED ALONE back then. I was a princess, scared of going somewhere far ALONE. So, I decided to step out of my fear. WHY NOT?

Let me share you about my past traveling journey

I came from a very conventional family. Well, I have my own social life, I hang out with my friends of course, but everything is under my parents’ control. No nightlife, no traveling with friends and so on. So far that my parents knew, I only traveled with my sister or family. Because it might be dangerous, I might be lost, etc.

That’s the reason why I studied in Bandung (my parents are in Jakarta, hmm Tangerang specifically) so that I can run a bit (and traveled with friends a bit, but always with a bunch of friends). 

I was not as brave as who I am today. Malaysia really taught me a lot. Ever since I moved to Malaysia,  stepped out from my comfort zone and decided to travel more.

How could I get the courage to travel alone?

So, one time I traveled with one of my friends. I did not get the freedom to choose where to go and what to do, because we have different personalities. I am an outdoor person, I hate air conditioner, I love to be kissed by the sun, explore new places, walking rather than taking a cab, etc. 

After that trip, I knew that I can’t be controlled by others. I need freedom! So, I started my journey from Langkawi, followed by Kota Kinabalu.
