This is what life is without Phones, laptops, buildings, cities. Loved this landscape of constant peace, sand and serenity. π . . . . . #worldplaces #bigdrift #trekking #fitgirls #hiking #tattoolife #tattoocommunity #π― #canonphotography (at The Big Drift) https://www.instagram.com/p/B98ZWpyFvqs/?igshid=iprsi369ch8v
I don't have words to describe my journey to this place, but I will try. 1. You have take a car to leave the city. 2. Enter the Big Drift, which is forest area. 3. Trek throught the fields. 4. Climb uphill to see sand 5. Reach this beautiful landscape which is super windy, beachy, but dry. Loved every bit of it! . . . . . Daily Reflection #31 Wilsons Promontory/Phillip Island
Positives: seeing the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland and its wildlife! Wilsons Prom was absolutely stunning, we had a great day exploring its landscape. Challenges: Climbing the sand cliffs to the breathtaking "Big Drift" part of the Prom, which was ultimately totally worth the trek. Not being allowed to take photos of the 'penguin parade' so as not to scare the penguins Best Meal: we ended up eating food at the Philip Island 'Penguin Parade' so that we wouldn't miss the penguins leaving the water and heading to their burrows for the night. Even though it was simple Asian noodles and pizza, it was nice having food while watching the amazing birds parade across the beach. Fact of the Day: Phillip island is home to "little penguins," which are 1 of 17 types of penguins and the only on Australia. They mostly live in the ocean, but head home to their burrows for a night or two - especially to check on their babies who are 'moulting' this time of year- shedding their baby fur in exchange for waterproof feathers so they can soon head to the water and start fishing for themselves Smiling Moments: seeing emus & kangaroos on the wilderness hike in the Prom. Watching baby penguins squeal and jump all over their mama penguin when she arrived back at their burrow:) Reaching Big Drift in the Prom, being surrounded by endless beautiful sandy landscape. What a view!
