Week #6 Knolling- 20 Things Knolled in Public that Mean Something About It’s Location
World’s Largest Dinosaur, Drumheller
A main tourist attraction to Drumheller is the World's Largest Dinosaur. I knolled at the Big Dinosaur. This is a tourist attraction that allows you to climb up the dinosaur (86 feet) and then look out it’s mouth at the Drumheller Valley.
The knoll displays pictures of the Dinosaur as well as dino toys. The postcards and toys are all bright hues which brings life to the composition. As well, there is geometric shapes such as the postcards and box of cards. The dinosaurs are natural shapes.
There is contrast between the different objects. For example, the black dinosaur in the top left corner congrats with the cream dinosaur underneath it. The eye moves in statistical compositional movement because it’s attention is caught by the contrast in the top left but then moves around to the different coloured and shaped objects.
Some postcards are placed vertically and some are placed horizontally. I used different postcards to display different line movements. Â
The  background was done on the floor at the Dinosaur. It is neutral and therefore does not take away from the knoll itself Furthermore, the horizontal and vertical lines of the tile helped to centre and arrange the objects.
The World’s Largest Dinosaur in Drumheller is an excellent tourist attraction for the Drumheller Valley and Alberta at large. I strongly encourage everyone to visit Drumheller and see all that the community has to offer.
