I have a .223 rifle that I used when I got my only two bucks, but recently I won a .308 in a raffle! If I'm comfortable using it this year after shooting it in I will, but if it's too much for me then I'll continue to use the .223. It barely kicks and has proven that it's powerful enough to take down a deer :) I'm 100% still in to hunting and this year's season is coming up soon! Archery is something I've always admired but never had anyone to mentor me, it takes a lot more skill than rifle. Good luck this season!! Ty for the ask :}
