Stranded {Lilith + Forrest}
“Just...great.” Lilith looked at the flat tire on the back left side of her car, wringing her hands in a slight panic. She was already running late to meet her family for dinner and now this. She could already hear the disbelief in her father’s tone if she tried to tell him that she had a flat tire and wouldn’t be able to make it. He’d read it as an excuse for not wanting to join them. She was already on thin ice with her parents. Each mistake she made was just another crack weakening that ice. She walked around to her truck and popped it open, lifting the bottom liner to find her spare tire. Lilith was embarrassed to admit that she had never changed a tire before. She knew what the tire iron was and how it was meant to be used and she understood the main use of the jack. Using all those things to fix the problem, in high heels and a pencil shirt no less, seemed easier said than done. Lilith placed the jack and tire iron on the ground, glancing over her shoulder as she saw a truck heading down the road. She wasn’t sure if she should wave down for help or let the stranger pass by. It was hard to trust anyone these days and you never knew who was capable of hurting you or helping you. Lilith swallowed anxiously as the truck pulled up behind her car and a tall figure jumped from the driver’s side door. “Uh, I was just trying to change my tire. First timer,” she giggled awkwardly.
